The maths
A 60W halogen bulb running 5 hours a day uses about 110 kWh a year. An 8W LED uses about 15 kWh, around 85% less, with the same brightness.
Where to start
- Replace the bulbs you use most first
- Choose the right colour temperature for each room
- Add smart switches or sensors so lights are only on when needed
